The Chance
By howzr on Oct 16, 2007 12:10 amWe were so busy preparing for the Knitting Factory video shoot that we forgot to report on our show at the Chance Theater!
First of all, much love from all of us to the Chance -top of our list of venues to play. If you ask me what feels like to play a big stage with pro sound in front of 1000 person capacity room that used to be a Vaudville Theater, I'd have to say that it kicks motherfuckin ass! Like fight club, once you start it, the volume on everything else in your life gets turned down. And we deliver that energy back to the audience times ten.
Props to the sound guy for giving us a real sound check. Its nice to actually hear the band you are playing with -I could even hear myself for once. One thing though: Chance Mgmt, please post our pictures next to those of Jerry Cantrell.
We got an good start to the night, loading in early and selling all of our tickets -the key to keeping the clubs happy. As kurt said, "pay to play" is the name of the game. But if you are going to put in all that work to promote, it might as well count. So to all the clubs out there: if you want bands to promote, you gotta give some love back!
So the show rocked after which, we hit the booze with a meanness. Chris's pal took us to after-party at his family's bar. They gave us the serious hook-up and fueled our downward spiral. Then we all crashed at Chris's parents place upstate and awoke to a full breakfast buffet courtesy of one Moran Senior. Nothing like corned beef and hash to soak up a nasty hangover.
