CD Artwork: trial by fire
By howzr on Nov 14, 2007 5:20 pmIn case you ever wondered and didn't have the occasion to find out, album artwork is just like that school paper on Abraham Lincoln that you had a semester to do but only started the night before finals. So, here we are, 3 business days ahead of our Midwest Tour and I just now dropped off the artwork to the CD manufacturer. All this after a frantic 12 hours of preparing the art, debating final song titles, song order, arguing with Scoop of the inclusion of a childish, but very METAL little SS soldier skull on the inside insert (decide for yourself) in time to catch the production deadline.
I know what you are thinking, "Didn't they finish mixing a few months ago???" The answer is, yes.
After recording and mixing for months, everyone just wants to booze up and play shows. The last thing you want to do is select fonts and color schemes (black again!). So, I guess it takes a deadline to get some shit done. And nothing motivates you like the thought of driving down an Indiana cornfield dirt road with an empty stomach, sub-zero temperature, and craving some money to pay for a 7-layer Taco Bell burrito and shot of Whiskey to keep you warm.
See you on tour...
