grizzly bear sings a tune

Just checked into the hotel in Chicago and now I gotto finish this blog post that I started yesterday, but was too drunk to finish...so here goes...

Pittsburgh was a kick ass start to the tour. First, Steve, the witty master of the polish ministry, hooked us up with some good eats, good drinks, and good people. Dan kicked off the show with a singer/songwriter set with maximum heart and sweet melodies. Next, Lungrib, ripped it up with their high octane set that sounded like the Melvins getting raped by Black Flag and Nirvana. A great sound. Mean Streak followed with a montage of pure metal. They rocked and much love to them for putting the night together.

We closed out the night, and with 4 hours of beer in us and inspiration from the other killer bands, we were ready to explode! Much love to the Johnstown crew who stuck around rocked out hard! We were also joined on stage by two Cigar-store-Indians on stage with us: the chief and a giant grizzly. They over-saw the proceedings and contributed major Karma. A gig is only as the people in the room, and these guys tore it up. Screaming, moshing, singing along. By the end, Scoop was hoisted aloft to surf the crowd before they all stormed the stage for the last encore. It was pandemonium and a great time. Thanks Pittsburgh!

Stay tuned for a recap from Cleveland, where USSA ROCKED Peabody's.
