Studio Part III: Guitar Rig...

For the gearheads, I'll go over my guitar setup for this recording session.

For main tracking, I used my trusty Gibson SG with PAF pickups through a borrowed Bogner Shiva head, 4x12 Marshall cab miked with Sure 57 and Royer ribbon mic's. For rhythm doubles, I sometimes used the studio's Fender Stratasonic -an oddball Fender with soapbar pickups, a cool guitar. Besides that, I used some other stuff for other parts and overdubs: a vintage Marshall Plexi for the "Pour Me a Drink" solo and some other little bits, Fender Bassman & Tonebender fuzz pedal for "Fain Lie Cry" rhythm double, and EH POG pedal for some "Hanging There" parts.

"Chapel Street" still needs a little guitar work. I'm planning to use a Gibson 330 hollow body through a little combo blues-style amp. That should add the right Mississippi "dirt" that is right for the song...
